I established The Flying Carpet in 2001 to offer my unique range of design production skills to the design industry on a freelance basis. I work with a broad range of clients from large agencies to small design companies. I have an office in Mt Victoria with a powerful computer kit where I can work if clients prefer.

The services I offer include: retouching, artwork creation, design, layout, preparing files for output to print and website creation. The magic quality I bring to my clients work is my indepth knowledge and skill which enable me to create finished art which sparkles.

I completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts majoring in Painting and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Art History and Art Theory at Canterbury University in 1992. In my final year of painting I bought a computer and started making art digitally.

The following year I began an exciting 8 years at Megalith one of New Zealand’s leading digital pre-media production houses. I learnt about high end scanning, retouching, colour correcting and creating film for the print industry. I worked closely with Saatchi and Saatchi and many other top agencies and design companies learning about the design industry and making a wide variety of award winning ads and printed products.

Over the last two years as The Flying Carpet I have worked in-house at many design companies and agencies working alongside designers and creative directors learning more about the design process and helping them to create stunning work. I am highly proficient in all graphics software applications and combined with my creative zest and enthusiasm I offer clients a truly enchanting experience.
